1. The Jerk - 85/100
A simpleminded, sheltered country boy suddenly decides to leave his family home to experience life in the big city, where his naivete is both his best friend and his worst enemy.
I don't think younger people appreciate how insanely massive Steve Martin was in his heyday. Before getting into acting, he was selling out big-ass stadiums all over the country doing standup and was as well known as anyone. Anyway, the Jerk is a timeless classic for anyone who considers themselves a fan of comedy.
2. The Big Short - 97/100
The men who made millions from a global economic meltdown.
My mom was working real estate through the recession so I had a very base knowledge of the housing marking crash, but this movie does such a fantastic job at breaking everything down into lay mans terms for everyone. Just brilliant work by the whole cast in Adam McKay's best movie.
3. Untold: Hall of Shame
Examine one of sports' biggest steroid scandals via interviews with the head of BALCO lab, athletes suspected of using performance-enhancing drugs and more.
I'm honestly interested in all the chapters of this, but the steroid scandal is the one that I'm most interested in. There may be a lot of tread on the story but I'll never be able to get enough.

The first season of this show was absolutely killer and I can't wait for this one.
2. Hard Knocks: Jets
The whole "we aren't showing cuts" thing is lame but I'll still be tuning in. More than anything, I can't wait to see what conspiracy theories come out of Rodgers mouth.
3. The Dirty Dozen
12 American military prisoners in World War II are ordered to infiltrate a well-guarded enemy château and kill the Nazi officers vacationing there. The soldiers, most of whom are facing death sentences for a variety of violent crimes, agree to the mission and the possible commuting of their sentences.
Some of the greatest actors of the 60s getting together to kill some Nazis in WW2. What's not to like?

1. Ong Bak - 90/100
In Thailand, the impoverished village of Ban Nong Pradu has its most precious Buddha statue stolen from the temple. Luckily the small town also has a very skilled fighter in the form of Ting (Tony Jaa), who sets out on a quest to recover the cherished figure. His journey leads him to Bangkok, where he must wrangle the statue from Don (Wannakit Sirioput), a volatile drug dealer. Meanwhile, the village is suffering a severe drought and needs the Buddha to restore vitality.
Ong-Bak is one of the best martial arts movies of the last 20 years and the introduction of one of the great martial arts actors in Tony Jaa.
2. Game Night
Max and Annie's weekly game night gets kicked up a notch when Max's brother Brooks arranges a murder mystery party -- complete with fake thugs and federal agents. So when Brooks gets kidnapped, it's all supposed to be part of the game. As the competitors set out to solve the case, they start to learn that neither the game nor Brooks are what they seem to be. The friends soon find themselves in over their heads as each twist leads to another unexpected turn over the course of one chaotic night.
We were talking about this a little on the last ep of LCB because we all thought this is a fairly under-appreciated movie. You can partially attribute it to comedies on a whole being down, but this probably stands in the top 10% of movies in the genre from the last decade.
3. Thoroughbreds - 90/100
Two teenage girls in suburban Connecticut rekindle their unlikely friendship after years of growing apart. In the process, they learn that neither is what she seems to be, and that a murder might solve both of their problems.
This is a very under-the-radar, tense dark comedy that has a little bit for everyone. This is also the first time I think I have ever seen it on streaming.

1. Cocaine Bear - 85/100
After a 500-pound black bear consumes a significant amount of cocaine and embarks on a drug-fueled rampage, an eccentric gathering of cops, criminals, tourists, and teenagers assemble in a Georgia forest.
Cocaine Bear has a little Lord & Miller, a lot of good comedy and some gory mauling. Pretty great combination if you ask me.
2. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves - 80/100
A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers embark on an epic quest to retrieve a long lost relic, but their charming adventure goes dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people.
I ate so much shit on this movie. Maybe more than any other one we ever reviewed. Based on the trailers, I thought this was going to be unwatchable garbage but it turned out to be a pretty charming and fun time.
3. The Goonies - 87/100
A young teenager named Mikey Walsh finds an old treasure map in his father's attic. Hoping to save their homes from demolition, Mikey and his friends Data Wang, Chunk Cohen, and Mouth Devereaux run off on a big quest to find the secret stash of Pirate One-Eyed Willie.
I don't need to pitch you on this. I miss these adventure movies from my childhood…
